Re-election on the board of the German Jazz Union (Deutsche Jazzunion)

Feeling grateful for the trust that the fellow members of the German Jazz Union have in me! At our last convention that took place at the Jazz Ahead in Bremen I was re-elected to represent our membership for another 3 years. 
Since 2021 I’m working together with 6 great colleagues in this honorary office trying my best to improve the visibility, the diversity but most of all the life standard and the social security of Jazz musicians in Germany.  What we achieved together with other professional associations is for example to establish minimum wages for projects that are  funded by public money.
In May I was happy to talk about all these developments at the international Bodensee conference in a dialogue with Andrea Fink who’s the general secretary of the “Bayerischer Tonkünstlerverband”, the Bavarian musicians’ association.

Invitation by the Bundespräsident to celebrate 25th jubilee of Jugend jazzt

Attending the celebration of 25 years of the competition Jugend jazzt at the Schloss Bellevue with Bundespräsident Steinmeier, Nils Landgren, Julia Hülsmann, Till Brönner, Eva Klesse and many more has been a big pleasure for me. I represented the Jazzkollektiv PENG, but also met some of my colleagues from the German Jazzunion there.<br />The concert was a great opportunity for young jazzmusicians to show their big talent to the jazz scene. I enjoyed it very much, but was quite shocked that there was only one girl amongst them. Hopefully there’ll be a change to more visibility of female jazz musicians in the future!</p>
